World Social Forum 2011, Dakar – Senegal

In the name of Iraqi Civil Society Organizations we greet all those two participated in this social forum and we stand with the wave of change in the Arab world. We in Iraq are living a different and very hard experience with respect to other Arab countries. We've been working to get free from dictatorship but change happened in Iraq through US intervention. We are struggling to end the American occupation, to build democracy, and to promote civil rights in our country. We have to struggle on two sides: against the American army and against the radical Islamic movements, which try to turn Iraq into another Kandahar. We ask civil society and social movements in Dakar to stand by Iraqis who resist the occupation and the dark forces which want to bring us back to the Middle Age.

Young Iraqi people look for more international links in order to shape a new society. In this world social forum we met international organizations which stand in solidarity with the Iraqi Civil Society and organized huge global demonstrations in 2003 against the war in Iraq. Together with our Italian, French, Canadian, and Spanish partners we invite you all to an international conference that will take place in Erbil (Iraq) in October 2011, to denounce the effects of the war on our country, to resist the economic occupation of foreign corporations, to defend public freedoms and social justice in Iraq.

We are fighting with you for another possible world.

باسم المجتمع المدني العراقي أحيي جميع من شارك في هذا المحفل الاجتماعي ، ونحن نقف مع موجة التغيير في العالم العربي. ونحن نعيش في العراق تجربة صعبة جدا و مختلفةعن ككل البلدان العربية الأخرى. لقد تم العمل للحصول على التحرر من الدكتاتورية إلا أن سقوط الدكتاتورية حدث في العراق من خلال تدخل الولايات المتحدة. نحن نكافح من أجل إنهاء الاحتلال الأمريكي، من أجل بناء الديمقراطية

وتعزيز الحقوق المدنية في بلدنا. لدينا في النضال على الجانبين : ضد الجيش الاميركي والحركات الإسلامية المتطرفة ، في مواجهة المتطرفين ، التي تحاول تحويل العراق الى قندهارثاني. ونطلب من المجتمع المدني والحركات الاجتماعية في داكار الوقوف إلى جانب العراقيين الذين يقاومون الاحتلال وقوى الظلام التي تريد أن تعيدنا إلى العصور الوسطى. ء

الشباب العراقي يبحث عن مزيد من الروابط الدولية من أجل تشكيل مجتمع جديد. في هذا المنتدى الدولي الذي يجمعنا لقينا العديد من المنظمات الدولية الواقفة وقفة تضامن مع المجتمع المدني العراقي ونظمت مظاهرات ضخمة في 2003 ضد الحرب في العراق. مع شركاء الايطاليين والفرنسيين والكنديين ، والإسبانيين ندعوك كلكم إلى المؤتمر الدولي الذي سيقام في أربيل (العراق) في أكتوبر 2011 للتنديد بآثار الحرب على بلدنا ، لمقاومة احتلال اقتصاد العراق شركات الأجنبية ، للدفاع عن الحريات الجماعية و العدالة الاجتماعية في العراق. ء
