Amongst others, Godert van den Berg was its founder. There will be several people who formerly tu died at this academy coming from Holland, who will share certain demonstrat ions and examples of the work: Godert, Corrie Hiwat, Marius Broeders, Fred Geerlings and Marie José Boon. Then there will also be Annet Hennema n, who herself studied there and gained her diploma which today is recognis ed as a Bachelor of Arts.\n\nRoberto Bacci (Italy): Memories of times gone by: he will tell of how he brought to Volterra the third theatre ISTA (Inte rnational School of Theatre Anthropology) of Eugenio Barba; of Grotowski; o f the theatre festival of Volterra; of the film Azioni nella Città ( Actions in the city), along with some of Volterra’s citizens and mayb e Mirella Schino or Nando Taviani. \n\nThe Charta of Volterra: Interviews, some of them dramatised, with Alessandra Ballerini, a lawyer specialised in refugee law who spent part of this summer working in Lampedusa, and Stefan o Galieni, a journalist dedicated to the plight and struggles of refugees a nd immigrants in Italy.\n\nIman Aoun (Palestine/Yemen):  Director and actress of Ashtar Theatre in Ramallah, Palestine, she is also the founder o f the 3-year course in Social Theatre at the University of Yemen. She will be bringing with her the documentary The Gaza Monologues, which tells the s tories belonging to the children and young people who have lived through th e conflict in Gaza. She will arrive on the 25th September, and leave on the 28th, showing the documentary to the group of young actors and performers and sharing with them her methods of work.\n\nMahmoud Badr (Egypt): a young Egyptian actor and will perform a short monologue to tell of his experienc es in the demonstrations and in prison during the Egyptian spring. He will also take part in the training, rehearsals and actions of theatre reportage over the weekend.\n\nAli Kaream Obaid, Yasir Kaream Yasir, Fouad Hanoon Ha di, Mustafa Rahman Issa Lami (Iraq):  These young actors are working f rom 27th September to 9th October under the direction of Annet Henneman on the theatre reportage Voices of Baghdad in Baghdad. After an open rehearsal in Baghdad, the first performance will be in Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan) as pa rt of the Iraqi Civil Society Solidarity Initiative conference on 8th Octob er. The actors will then come to Volterra, arriving on 20th October to begi n a short tour, beginning with Incontri-Meetings. The show is already booke d for performances in Florence, Pisa, Volterra and Pomarance for the school s.\n\nSelwa Zako (Iraq/Jordan): An Iraqi journalist, Christian by birth and a communist now over 75 years of age. After the war in Iraq she was threat ened with death and so was unable to remain in Baghdad. Awarded the press f reedom prize a few years ago by Information Safety Freedom, she is now livi ng in great (but dignified) difficulty in Amman, trying to survive by worki ng as a translator.\n\nAmal Ershaid (Jordan): An actress in the theatre rep ortage on refugees directed by Annet Henneman in the International Theatre Festival of Amman in November 2010. During the festival, she was also actin g in show by an Iraqi director. She will be writing an article in Arabic on Meetings-Incontri and will participate in the training, rehearsals and act ions of theatre reportage over the weekend.\n\nMohammad Jawdat Faris Al Ma& #39;aitah (Palestine/Jordan): A young Palestinian poet who acted in the per formance Heaven and Hell: Stories of Life in Palestine, and in the performa nce on refugees in the International Theatre Festival of Amman. He brings h i s poetry with him, to the streets, wherever he goes, sometimes accompanyi ng it with the oud (Arabic lute). He will also be participating in the trai ning, rehearsals and actions of theatre reportage throughout the weekend.\n \nSavas Boyraz (Istanbul, Turkey/Sweden): Kurdish photographer who document s through his photography those who have fled from burnt villages and who a re now struggling to survive in the city of Diyarbakir in Turkish Kurdistan .\n\nMehdi Zana (Turkish Kurdistan/Sweden): Former mayor of Diyarbakir, imp risoned for over a decade for attempting to improve the political rights an d situation of his people, the Kurds (just as, in the years following his r elease, his wife Leyla Zana was arrested and served 9 years for having decl ared the final oath as she was sworn in as an elected member of parliament in Kurdish). He also took part in Teatro di Nascosto’s performance Ri fugiati in Rome and Milan. As a result he was no longer able to travel and had to flee immediately back to Sweden where he has citizenship. He will ta lk about the situation of his people in Turkey today.\n\nDana Abbas (Iraqi Kurdistan/London, UK): Dana has for many years been a faithful associate of Teatro di Nascosto, from the first encounter in Tehran until today, partic ipating in various performances, sharing with Annet his culture in particul ar its music and also offering his practical and technical assistance. He w ill talk about the current situation of Iraqi Kurdistan and will hopefully bring with him to share some of his favourite music and a documentary.\n\nA na Martinez (Spain):  Member of the Spanish cinema academy and Goya Aw ard-winning film maker and television director, Ana Martinez  will sha re some of her documentaries and short films*, which focus on the life and difficulties faced by women. (* La pasiòn di vivir, María, 25 ’ sul parte naturale, Penalty and Trousers)\n\nGraziano Pacini (Italy ):  -on behalf of the Tavolo per la Pace della Val di Cecina, which re presents 13 communities, and which is working in tight collaboration with e fforts and projects to counter violence in Iraq and in the Middle East in g eneral. The Tavolo will be bringing a film on the Sahrawi, which will be sc reened in the cinema of Volterra.\n\nInformation Safety Freedom: Stefano Ma rcelli (RAI Mediterraneo [Italian media]) and Stefano Neri (Director of Inf ormation Safety Freedom). This organisation reports through its website, in books and articles, on the difficulties confronted by journalists in every country of the world, the censorship of the internet and mass media, on jo urnalists who risk their lives, who risk prison and torture for their work. The question to be addressed in discussion with this organisation is how t o gain greater visibility for the work of Teatro di Nascosto, and in genera l for all journalists in these situations. They will share with the tow n a few songs (Lumi), with the accompaniment of David Dainelli, Aldo Martol ini and others, and dances involving the whole group of performers…\ n\nKhyam Allami (Baghdad, Iraq/London, UK): Renowned oud player, recipient of BBC Radio 3 scholarship and performer at the BBC Proms in 2010, is curre ntly working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, devising the musical accom paniment to their new version of the Marat/Sade.\n\nFarqin Azad and Cafer A karsu (Turkish Kurdistan): Two dengbej singers who, true to the old traditi on, tell true stories through song – a culture that is disappearing. Farqin is well known as a member of the band Koma Azad famous for their liv e and televised performances.\n\nVenus Faiq (Iraqi Kurdistan/Holland): Jour nalist, writer, employee of NRT TV in Suleymania when it was attacked and b urnt down in February 2011. She has now returned to live in Holland.\n\nMoh ammed Mustafa (Palestine/Finland/Jordan): Young graphic designer and actor who will be recording the event through film, interviews and photos.\n\nIsm aeel Daewood and Martina Pignatt (Baghdad, Iraq/Italy): Amongst others in B aghdad, he is responsible for having set up the movement against violence: LAONF. Porterà il documentario:” The Gaza Monologues”, un spettacolo che raccont a le storie raccolte di giovani e bambini che hanno vissuto la guerra in Ga za. Verrà il 25 e partirà il 28, mostrando il documentario ai giovani attori, il gruppo di preparazione condividendo il metodo di lavoro .\n\nTutti attori, artisti giovani partecipanti arrivano intorno al 20 otto bre per poi preparare tutti insieme il weekend\n\nMahmoud Badr (Egitto) gio vane attore con un monologo corte sulla sua esperienza del carcere, primave ra egiziana e partecipa alle prove e le azioni di teatro reportage durante il weekend.\n\nAli Kareem Obaid, Yasir Kareem Yasir, Fouad Hanoon Hadi, Mus tafa Rahman Issa Lami (Iraq), giovani attori lavoreranno sotto la regia di Annet Henneman per  il teatro reportage "Voci da Baghdad" (2 7 settmemre – 9 ottobre) a Baghdad. Dopo una prova aperta a Baghdad l a prima sarà ad Erbil (Kurdistan iracheno)  nell'incontro c on la conferenza con La Società Civile di Solidarietà, 8 otto bre. Poi gli attori si sposteranno a Volterra (20 ottobre) per iniziare un piccolo tournée iniziando nel programma: Incontri – Meetings. Per lo spettacolo ci sono già prenotazioni per Firenze, Pisa, Volter ra e Pomarance  per le scuole. \n\nSalwa Zako (Iraq/ Giordania),  giornalista, communista, nata cristiana intorno ai 76 anni. Dopo la guerra in Iraq è stata minacciata di morte e non è potuto rimanere a Baghdad. Premiata da Information Safety Freedom alcuni anni fa e adesso v ivendo in grande (dignitosa) difficoltà, cercando di sopravvivere co n traduzioni. \n\nAmal Ershaid (Giordania), attrice al teatro reportage su rifugiati sotto la mia regia nel Festival Internazionale di Teatro ad Amman , novembre scorso, durante il festival era anche attrice nello spettacolo d i un regista iracheno. Scriverà un’articolo in Arabo su Meetin gs - Incontri e partecipa alle prove e le azioni di teatro reportage durant e il weekend.\n\nMohammad Jawdat Faris Alma'aitah (Palestina, Giordania ), giovane palestinese, poeta, e partecipante come attore allo spettacolo: Inverno paradiso, racconti di vita palestinese…” e nello spett acolo su rifugiati nello festival di teatro internazionale ad Amman. Porta le sue poesie anche per strada, dappertutto, a volte accompagnato da oud. ( liuto arabo). Partecipa alle prove e le azioni di teatro reportage durante il weekend.\n\n\nSavas Boyraz (Turchia Istanbul/Svezia): fotografo curdo ch e documenta con le sue foto le persone scappate dai villaggi bruciati e che vivono adesso in una situazione difficile, di sopravvivenza nella citt&agr ave; di Diyarbakir del Kurdistan turco\n\nMehdi Zana (Kurdustan turco/Svezi a): una volta sindaco di Diyarbakir, in prigione per lunghi (11?) anni perc hé stava cercando politicamente (come dopo la sua moglie Leyla Zana che ha fatto 9 anni di prigione per aver giurata, come parlamentare eletta, dopo il turco, in curdo) di migliorare la situazione del suo popolo: il po polo curdo. Ha fatto parte del mio spettacolo: Rifu-giati  a Roma, Mil ano e poi non ha più potuto viaggiare e ha dovuto scappare un'al tra volta in Svezia, paese della quale ha la nazionalità. Parler&agr ave; della situazione del suo popolo in Turchia oggi.\n\nDana Abbas (Kurdis tan iracheno/Londra): è stato per lunghi anni un collaboratore fedel e del teatro di nascosto, dal primo incontro a Tehran fino ad oggi, parteci pando a diversi spettacoli, condividendo con me canti, la sua cultura, la s ua musica tutto, ma anche sostendo, aiutando con cose pratiche. Parler&agra ve; del Kurdistan iracheno di oggi e vorrei che si portasse la musica che a ma (bellissimo) e un documentario.\n\nAna Martinez (Spagna): parte dell&rsq uo;Accademia di Cinema Spagnola (Premio Goya), film maker e regista di tele vsione. Mostra nei suoi documentari temi intorno alla vita e i problemi par ticolari che vivono le donne. Porterà alcuni documentary/corto metra ggi: (La pasión de vivir, María, 25' sul parto naturale) PENALTY and TROUSERS (Pantaloni)\n\nGraziano Pacini (Italia): per Il Tavolo per la Pace della Val di Cecina che rappresenta 13 municipalità, e con il quale c’è una forte collaborazione per i progetti contr o la violenza in Iraq, medioriente, in generale. Una collaborazione di inte nzione, di sostegno. Il tavolo porta per le scuole un film sui Sahrawi, il venerdì mattina credo (da definire), in collaborazione con primo pia no, che si svolgerà nel cinema di Volterra\n\nInformation Safety Fre edom: Stefano Marcelli (RAI mediterraneo), Stefano Neri (direttore Informat ion Safety Freedom).  L’organizzazione racconta sul website e tr amite articoli e libri, di situazioni difficili dei giornalisti in tutti pa esi del mondo, di censura su websites e mass media, di giornalisti che risc hiano la vita, la prigione, tortura, per il lavoro che fanno. Con questa or ganizzazione si tratta l’argomento: Come si può dare più ; visibilità al lavoro del teatro di nascosto e più in genera le ai giornalisti in questi situazioni. Una cultura c he si sta perdendon. Il cantante Farqin è ben conosciuto come membro di Koma Azad, con concerti anche in televisione.\n\nVenus Faiq (Kurdistan iracheno, Olanda), giornalista, scrittrice, lavorava al NRT tv in Suleymani a quando è stato attaccato e bruciato. Adesso è ritornata a v ivere in Olanda.\n\nMohammed Mustafa (Palestina, Finlandia, Giordania) giov ane grafico/ attore che documenterà tutto l’evento con la came ra, interviste, foto.\n\nIsmaeel Daewood: ha iniziato insieme ad alcuni alt ri a Baghdad il movimento contro la violenza: LAONF. Adesso vive a Pisa, co llabora con Un Ponte Per… per il progetto della libreria che cerca d i salvare, ritrovare, libri danneggiati, persi durante la guerra e per il p rogetto Laonf. Leggerà alcune delle poesie antiche salvate.\n\n\nRif ugiati: Nur Mohammed Yakshedi, alcuni rifugiati attuali di Volterra. Gi&agr ave; un giovane ha collaborato all’asta, credo che cercherò di coinvolgerlo attivamente.
