 \nGaza Surf Club\nTuesday 4th December – The Palestine Museum\n \nGaza Surf
  Club is a documentary showing at Bristol's Palestine Museum at 7.30pm on T
 uesday 3rd December. In this ravishing film we meet the surfers of Gaza, a 
 group of young men and women who find their freedom in the waves of the Med
 iterranean, away from the depressing reality of living under blockade in “t
 he world’s biggest open air prison”. The museum cafe will be open prior to

  second film of the festival is a documentary showing at the Palestine Muse
 um at 7.30pm on Wednesday 5th December. When a nationwide uprising breaks o
 ut in 1987 in Gaza, Naila Ayesh must make a choice between love, family and
  freedom. Undaunted, she embraces all three, joining the vibrant, nonviolen

 th December – Windmill pub\n\nIn Between, will be shown at The Windmill pub

 n------------\nWall\nThursday 6th December – Watershed\n\nOn Thursday 6th D
 ecember at 6.30pm, the star of Wall, two-time Oscar nominee, David Hare, jo
 ins us for a screening and Q&A at Watershed. The film is an animated docume
 ntary, exploring the impact that the wall separating Israel and the Occupie
 d Palestinian Territories has had on the people in the region. Rich with rh
 ythmic, raw imagery, the film is framed by Hare’s journey, as both his hear
 t and mind are shaken by the incongruities and contradictions of life in th

 ast Jerusalem who works as a deliveryman. Despite being worlds apart, Sarah
  and Saleem risk everything as they embark on an illicit affair that could

 efugee, facing off in court, as all around the case threatens a social expl

  will be screening Wajib at 8pm on Saturday 8th December. Wajib follows Sha
 di as he returns to Nazareth for his sister’s wedding and despite a straine
 d relationship, agrees to help his father hand-deliver the invitations to e
 ach guest, as per local Palestinian custom. The film will be followed by a 
 pre-recorded Q&A with the Director, Annemarie Jacir. This beautifully obser
 ved comedy drama about the simmering tension between father and son has won

  9th December – Watershed \n\nKilling Gaza, screening at 2.40pm on Sunday 9
 th December at Watershed is a documentary on Israel’s 2014 assault on Gaza.
  Independent journalists, Max Blumenthal and Dan Cohen, turned a camera ont
 o the survivors to let them speak for themselves and tell their acts of cre
 ative resistance. After the film there will be a talk by Dr Swee Ang, co-fo

 laa is determined to be a policewoman on the Palestinian Security Forces. T
 his intimate documentary follows Walaa from aged 15 to 21, revealing the ex
 uberant energy of its subject and a first-ever look inside the Palestinian

 l Aviv on Fire\nSunday 9th December – The Cube\n\nThe final film of Bristol
  Palestine Film Festival will be Tel Aviv on Fire, screening at The Cube, a
 t 8pm on Sunday 9th December. The comedy follows Salam, an intern on a popu
 lar Palestinian soap opera. Arrested at a checkpoint, he deceives Israeli c
 ommander Assi, into thinking that he is a writer on the show. Squeezed betw
 een the Israeli officer and the Palestinian backers, Salam can only solve h

 HISTORY OF THE FESTIVAL\nThe first Bristol Palestine Film Festival was held
  in 2011, launched by the acclaimed film-maker Ken Loach, who remains the f
 estival’s patron. Since then, the event has screened more than 50 films and
  welcomed more than 2,000 attenders. Hosted by the Watershed, the aim of th
 e festival is to deepen public understanding of Palestinian society and for
 ge links between the Palestinian communities represented on screen, and the
  audiences watching them in Bristol.\n
